Features & Benefits of Electroluminescent Technology

Electroluminescent panels are paper thin laminated panels that illuminate as an electrical current is passed through the panel.  Phosphor crystals with coloured overlays are sandwiched between conductors, and as an electrical current is applied, the phosphor crystals rapidly charge and emit light which illuminates the printed overlay.

Electroluminescent lamps are produced in many forms such as Electroluminescent panels, Tape or Wire.  The low power consumption makes EL technology one of the most energy efficient light sources available.

Electroluminescent Poster Benefits:
  • Lightweight and Thin (Typically between 0.2mm - 0.5mm)
  • Extremely low power consumption, 75-90% less power than any other point light source.
  • Flexibility - Can be bent to configure almost any shape and design.
  • High Efficiency and Big Brightness - Typically 80% of energy is converted to light. Highly visible and can be seen from further distances in darkness, smoke and fog.
  • Available in a variety of shapes and sizes.
  • Maintenance free.
  • Waterproof.
  • Strength - Almost unbreakable. Vibration and Impact Resistant.
  • Reliability - does not catastrophically or abruptly fail as they consist of millions of microscopic crystals, Unlike filament or fluorescent lighting.
  • Low operating temperature - A cold lighting source.
  • Soft non-glaring light which make sit easy to look at.
  • Uses no hazardous materials – environment friendly.
  • Long service life - Over 30,000 hours.
